The 2011 Acura RDX SH-AWD is a five-passenger luxury compact crossover SUV known for its turbocharged performance, responsive handling, and sophisticated all-wheel-drive system. Developed as a sport-oriented alternative to conventional luxury SUVs, the RDX combines the practicality and elevated seating position of a crossover with driving characteristics inspired by Acura's performance sedans. Its distinctive exterior features a bold front grille, sharply sculpted bodywork, prominent wheel arches, and dual exhaust outlets, while its driver-focused cabin offers supportive seating, upscale materials, and a versatile cargo area.

Power is supplied by a 2.3-liter turbocharged DOHC 16-valve i-VTEC four-cylinder engine producing 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with a five-speed automatic transmission featuring Sequential SportShift manual shift control. The engine incorporates an intercooled turbocharger, variable valve timing, and a variable-flow turbocharger design intended to improve throttle response and provide strong midrange torque. The RDX's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system can actively distribute torque between the front and rear axles and independently between the rear wheels, helping improve traction, cornering stability, and handling response. Unlike conventional AWD systems primarily designed for low-traction conditions, SH-AWD also uses torque distribution to enhance vehicle dynamics during normal driving.

The Technology Package adds an extensive selection of premium comfort, entertainment, and convenience features, including a GPS navigation system, AcuraLink real-time traffic information, a rearview camera, and a 410-watt, 10-speaker Acura/ELS Surround premium audio system with Dolby Pro Logic II processing. Additional equipment includes Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, a six-disc CD/DVD changer, leather seating, heated power-adjustable front seats, a power sunroof, and HID headlamps.

One particularly advanced feature is Acura's GPS-linked, solar-sensing dual-zone automatic climate control system, which uses satellite navigation data and a dashboard sunlight sensor to compensate for uneven heating from the sun. By continuously calculating the vehicle's position, direction of travel, and the sun's relative angle, the system can automatically adjust heating, cooling, fan speed, and airflow distribution independently between the driver and passenger sides. This allows the climate control system to counteract differences in solar exposure and maintain more consistent cabin temperatures without requiring manual adjustments.

Exterior appointments include dual exhaust outlets and 18-inch split-spoke alloy wheels fitted with a matching set of Bridgestone Dueler H/T Alenza Plus tires. This RDX has had just one owner, has remained Texas-owned since new, and has received recent service.
