The 2005 Honda Pilot is a highly popular midsize crossover SUV that seats up to eight passengers and uses a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine. It combines the roomy feel of a minivan with the look and four-wheel-drive capability of an SUV.

The Pilot was a major milestone for Honda, marking its first entry into the highly competitive three-row, midsize crossover SUV market. Developed specifically for North American families, it replaced the truck-based Honda Passport, and shared a platform with the Acura MDX and Honda Odyssey.

Standard equipment includes a third row seat, perforated leather seating, dual-stage heated front seats, power sliding and tilting glass sunroof, and a power driver seat with manual lumbar support.

Power is provided by a 3.5-liter VTEC V6 generating 255 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque, and routed to all four wheels via a Variable Torque Management (VTM-4) all-wheel-drive system linked to a 5-speed automatic transmission.
