The 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo is a high-performance luxury SUV that combines the engineering and driving characteristics of Porsche's sports cars with the practicality and versatility of a full-size utility vehicle. Introduced as Porsche's first production SUV, the original Cayenne represented a significant expansion of the company's lineup and established a new benchmark for performance-oriented luxury SUVs. Developed under the internal designation Type 9PA, the Cayenne features a rigid unibody structure, a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, and a performance-focused chassis designed to deliver sports-car-like handling despite its substantial size and weight. The flagship Turbo model is distinguished by its more aggressive front fascia, enlarged air intakes, distinctive exterior trim, and extensive luxury equipment.

Power is supplied by a 4.5-liter twin-turbocharged DOHC 32-valve V8 engine producing 450 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission. Featuring two turbochargers, intercooling, and continuously variable valve timing, the V8 delivers substantial torque across a broad engine-speed range. Porsche quoted a 0–60 mph acceleration time of approximately 5.6 seconds and a top speed of approximately 165 mph for the Cayenne Turbo. Power is distributed through Porsche Traction Management (PTM), a permanent all-wheel-drive system featuring an electronically controlled, variable-locking center differential that automatically adjusts torque distribution between the front and rear axles according to driving conditions.

The Cayenne Turbo also features a sophisticated electronically controlled air suspension system with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), allowing the driver to adjust ride height and damping characteristics to suit varying road conditions. The air suspension provides multiple selectable ride heights, including increased ground clearance for off-road use and a lowered setting for improved stability at highway speeds. PASM continuously monitors driving conditions and adjusts the suspension's damping force to balance ride comfort with responsive handling. The Cayenne's advanced chassis technology, combined with its powerful twin-turbocharged V8 and permanent all-wheel drive, helped establish the original Cayenne Turbo as one of the most capable performance SUVs of its generation.

Originally carrying an MSRP of approximately $100,000, this example is finished in Crystal Silver Metallic over a Black Smooth Leather interior and is equipped with an extensive selection of luxury, comfort, and technology features. Factory equipment includes Porsche Entry & Drive, a BOSE surround sound system, the Light Comfort Package, and 14-way power-adjustable front seats with memory.
