The 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited is a five-passenger compact crossover SUV known for its combination of upscale amenities, modern styling, and practical everyday versatility. Featuring Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, the Tucson incorporates a prominent hexagonal grille, sculpted body panels, swept-back headlights, and a distinctive rising beltline. Its redesigned body structure makes extensive use of advanced high-strength steel, providing improved structural rigidity and crash protection while maintaining a relatively lightweight design.
Power is supplied by a 1.6-liter turbocharged DOHC 16-valve GDI four-cylinder engine producing 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, paired with Hyundai's seven-speed EcoShift dual-clutch automatic transmission driving the front wheels. The engine features gasoline direct injection, an intercooled turbocharger, and continuously variable valve timing to deliver strong low- and midrange torque while maintaining efficient fuel consumption. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission uses two independently operated clutches to provide rapid gear changes and improved mechanical efficiency compared with conventional torque-converter automatics. This powertrain was introduced to the Tucson for 2016 as an alternative to the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, offering increased torque and more responsive acceleration.
As the top-of-the-line trim for 2016, the Limited offers an extensive selection of luxury, comfort, and convenience features, including leather-trimmed seating, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, and a hands-free power liftgate. This example is further equipped with the Ultimate Package, adding a panoramic sunroof, an eight-inch touchscreen GPS navigation system, an eight-speaker Infinity premium audio system, and heated rear outboard seats. Additional technology includes Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio, and auxiliary and USB audio inputs. Safety and driver-assistance equipment includes blind-spot detection, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors. Exterior appointments include distinctive 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
