The 2007 Mazda CX-7 is a mid-size, five-passenger crossover SUV that debuted for the 2007 model year as Mazda's first mid-size SUV entry since the mid-1990s. Designed with styling cues heavily inspired by the Mazda RX-8 sports coupe, the CX-7 focused heavily on car-like handling, sleek aerodynamics (including a steeply raked 66-degree windshield), and a sporty driving dynamic rather than traditional boxy utility.

Marketed with Mazda's "Zoom-Zoom" philosophy, the CX-7 borrows mechanical DNA from hot hatchbacks like the Mazdaspeed3. The 2.3L turbo engine delivers punchy acceleration, and the suspension is tuned for sharp, car-like cornering rather than a soft, floating ride.

Building on the base Sport and mid-level Touring trims, the Grand Touring package adds high-end features as standard, including Blind Spot Monitoring, a rearview camera, bluetooth, a 9-speaker Bose Centerpoint surround-sound system, premium leather upholstery, automatic climate control, an 8-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, and HID headlamps.

Power is delivered by a 2.3-Liter DISI Turbocharged 4-Cylinder directly derived from Mazda’s performance lineup, shared with the Mazdaspeed3 and Mazdaspeed6 sport sedans. It generates 244 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and yields 19 city / 24 highway MPG. Power is routed to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode.
