The 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL is a five-passenger midsize sedan known for its sporty driving characteristics, comfortable interior, distinctive styling, and balance of performance and fuel efficiency. As part of the fourth-generation Altima lineup introduced for 2007, it features Nissan's D-platform architecture, which provides a longer wheelbase, wider track, and increased structural rigidity compared with its predecessor. The engine features Nissan's Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), which adjusts intake valve timing to optimize power delivery and efficiency across varying engine speeds. The Xtronic CVT continuously adjusts its drive ratio rather than shifting through conventional fixed gears, providing smooth acceleration and allowing the engine to operate efficiently under different driving conditions. Additional mechanical and safety features include independent front and rear suspension, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, and brake assist.

This example is equipped with the SL Package and Connection Package, adding a range of upscale comfort, convenience, and technology features. The SL Package includes leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a HomeLink garage door opener, and a premium nine-speaker Bose audio system.
