The 2010 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited is a seven-passenger midsize crossover SUV combining the passenger capacity and versatility of a three-row SUV with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive technology. Its hybrid powertrain allows the vehicle to operate using gasoline power, electric power, or a combination of both, depending on driving conditions. The Highlander Hybrid also features regenerative braking, which recovers energy during deceleration to recharge the hybrid battery, along with an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system that provides additional traction when needed.

Power is supplied by a 3.3-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine paired with electric drive motors, producing a combined 270 horsepower. The Hybrid Synergy Drive system utilizes an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission and an electric motor to power the rear wheels when additional traction is required, eliminating the need for a conventional mechanical driveshaft between the front and rear axles. The chassis features independent MacPherson strut front and rear suspension, electric power-assisted steering, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, Vehicle Stability Control, traction control, and electronically controlled regenerative braking.

As the top-of-the-line Limited trim, this example features leather upholstery, third-row seating, a power sunroof, factory GPS navigation, a premium JBL audio system, and a rear DVD entertainment system. Additional equipment includes a rearview camera, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, Smart Key access with push-button start, and a power liftgate. Exterior features include 19-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels fitted with a matching set of Evoluxx Capricorn 4X4 HP tires.
