The 2013 Kia Optima EX is a five-passenger midsize sedan recognized for its distinctive exterior styling, spacious interior, and extensive available comfort and technology features. Designed under the direction of Kia's former chief design officer Peter Schreyer, the Optima features the brand's signature tiger-nose grille, swept-back headlamps, and a sleek, coupe-inspired roofline. Power is supplied by a 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine producing 200 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed Sportmatic automatic transmission driving the front wheels. The engine features gasoline direct injection and continuously variable valve timing, providing a balance of performance and fuel efficiency. The chassis incorporates independent MacPherson strut front suspension, an independent multilink rear suspension, electric power-assisted steering, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control.

This example is equipped with both the Premium Package and Technology Package, providing a panoramic sunroof, factory GPS navigation, an eight-speaker Infinity surround sound system, and a rearview camera.
