The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Fender Edition is a limited-edition, performance-focused variant of the iconic hatchback that blends a retro automotive aesthetic with that of Fender’s legendary guitars. Volkswagen produced about 2500 units worldwide. The edition combines a sporty turbocharged powertrain with a premium 400-watt Fender audio system and unique guitar-inspired interior styling touches. The nine-speaker Fender audio system features a trunk-mounted Fender Bassman subwoofer and a 10-channel, 400-watt amplifier. Inside, the Fender sports a unique “Sunburst-painted” dashboard, designed to resemble vintage Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster guitars, and cloth/leatherette seats with contrasting seams exclusive to the Fender Edition.

The Fender was available exclusively in Deep Black metallic paint with Fender badging on the fenders, brushed-chrome side mirrors, bi-xenon headlights, a rear spoiler, and 18-inch disc-style alloy wheels.

Power is delivered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic. The car uses an XDS electronic limited-slip differential that maximizes front-wheel-drive traction, and features a sport-tuned suspension from the factory.
