The 2005 Cadillac XLR is a luxurious two-seat retractable hardtop convertible built on the Chevrolet Corvette platform but tuned for grand-touring comfort rather than pure sports-car aggression, competing directly with cars like the Mercedes SL500 and Lexus SC430. It was Cadillac’s halo model during its early-2000s revival, blending sharp “Art & Science” styling with high-end features.

Xenon Blue (a striking metallic blue, sometimes described as having subtle red undertones in certain lighting) was a carryover color from 2004 but less common in 2005. Out of 4,190 total 2005 XLRs produced, only about 253 were Xenon Blue (roughly 6%).

Power is delivered by a Northstar 4.6-liter V8, rated at 320 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission, and top speed was electronically limited to 155 mph.
